Football News 24/7This Premier League season is a lot different than any other before. Instead of Arsenal and Chelsea, it’s Manchester City fighting their city rivals for the title. Instead of a secure top four spot, Liverpool is fighting to get to the Champions League. Here is a short preview of the Premier League top four battle.
My prediction: Manchester City will win the title, with United finishing as runner ups. Spurs will get the third place, and Liverpool will nick Arsenal for the fourth spot. Chelsea will finish sixth, with a total revamp awaiting in the summer.
Arsenal will lose out on the fourth spot due to their traditional bad form in spring, and Liverpool will get a firing in late winter/early spring and will repeat their spring form of last season.

Considering the current situation on the table, Manchester City and Manchester United will be the ones who will battle it out for the title. As for Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool, they will fight for the remaining two places in the Champions League zone.
Chelsea are a club in transition. The squad is ageing and needs fresh blood, the manager is new to the Premier League and the team still has to get used to his playing style. Their midfield is so far doing well, with Mata pulling the strings, but it is the defence that needs to be sorted out. Every serious striker can rip their defence apart without any touble. Another problem is a certain Mr. Fernando Torres. If Chelsea manage to sort out their defence, and get Torres back to his old form, they should be considered third place favourites.
Tottenham are flying high at the moment. The team is playing well, and with Gareth Bale in good form they are serious contenders. The only problem for Spurs will be to keep the good form the whole season. If they manage to continue like they are doing now, they will certainly be in the top four.
Arsenal started the season poorly, but recovered later and are now on a good form. The person responsible for Arsenal’s recovery is the one and only Robin van Persie. Altoug they are on a good run of games, Arsenal will face a tough task of keeping van Persie fit for the rest of the season. If they manage to keep him fit, and he continues his recent form, Arsenal might even mount a surprise title challenge. Even if Arsenal manage to get to the top four, they will still need to invest heavily to keep themselves at the top.
Liverpool are the most unlucky side of the season. Hitting the woodwork 11 times in 13 PL games is an almost impossible achievement. Liverpool is playing good football, dominating every game they played this season. Their only problem is their inability to convert their chances into goals. But that unlucky charm needs to end sometimes, and when it does, Liverpool will play like real title challengers. With a bit of luck, and a player or two coming in in January, Liverpool should have no big problem getting into the top four.
