Tottenham fans, enjoy it while it lasts

As Fabio Capello resigns from the England No.1 job over a ‘misunderstanding’, the hot spot is flavouring up more than ever and Harry Redknapp is wanted by almost every England fan and player to succeed Mr Capello. As the genius himself quoted ‘It’d be hard to turn down if I was asked.’ 


Harry has always wanted the England job and also said ’Every manager’s dream is to manage their country’ and with no more than 4 months until Euro 2012, Harry has a big decision to make, after the Tottenham fans have been so loyal to him.


Harry Redknapp may not be able to read The Gruffalo or not be able to write his 3x tables, but when it comes to football, he knows his stuff.

Examples:-


Louis Saha:

Louis Saha had played 18 games for Everton this season, starting 15 and scoring only one goal and failing to even give an assist. 


The 33 year old has always been known to be inconsistent, but has tried to revive his career since joining Tottenham, and has already scored 2 goals and gave an assist to Adebayor on his full debut against Newcastle.


The 33 year old joined Tottenham on the January deadline day of 2012, signing a 6 month contract with Steven Pienaar going back to Goodison Park where he left in January of 2011.


Gareth Bale:

Gareth Bale came to Tottenham as a left back, but Harry Redknapp has made him into a prolific goal-scoring left winger. Bale joined Tottenham for £7 million from Southampton in the summer transfer of 2007.


Bale’s first season at Tottenham saw him score goals against the likes of Arsenal, Fulham and Middlesbrough. But Bale never looked good playing left back. In Bale’s first season at Tottenham, he failed to pick up any victories in 24 games in his first season at Spurs being described as a ‘Jonah’.


Bale was limited to 12 appearances in his Premier League debut season due to injuries. In 2009, Bale was again injured and required knee surgery but returned to White Hart Lane as a transformed left winger and was labeled the ‘key man’ as Tottenham qualified for the Champions League for the first time ever.


The Welshman has been on Barcelona’s radar for the best part of the 2011/2012 campaign and it’s been reported Barcelona’s scouts have been to White Hart Lane 7 times this season. 


Everybody knows Bale is capable of playing for any team in Europe when he’s at his best, but it remains to be known if Bale will still be a “yids” player come summer.


Emmanuel Adebayor:

Emmanuel Adebayor has been Tottenham’s top goal scorer and assister scoring 10 goals and assisting 10 goals; the first player in the top 5 leagues to do so. 


The former Togo international joined Spurs from Manchester City on loan at the start of the season and went straight into the first team, scoring on his debut against Wolves in a 4-0 win. The 28 year old scored his 99th and 100th goal in a 4-0 home win against Liverpool.


Adebayor has scored on all three of his English debuts. He scored against Birmingham in a 2-0 win for Arsenal and a 2-0 win against Blackburn for Man City. However, Adebayor is known for being well committed to the club he plays for the first year or so, but then slowly seems to become “careless.”

Arsenal

Adebayor scored 4 goals in 13 appearances in his first Premier League season (2005-2006) at Arsenal, then scored 8 in 29 the following season. However, the former Togolese captain went on to score 26 goals in 34 games in his third season at the Emirates, but scored only 10 in 27 in what was his final season at Arsenal.


Manchester City

Adebayor joined Man City from Arsenal for a reported £25 million and was the first ever player to score in all of his first four games at the Etihad Stadium and ended his first season with 14 goals in 26 games. However, his second season saw him end up with 1 goal in 8 games.


These stats have proven that Adebayor to be a good but inconsistent striker at first but gets careless, it’s almost as if he wants a change every year. But at Tottenham, he is still going very strong with 10 goals in 22 games and still looks as committed as ever.


These are all just examples of what Harry Redknapp is capable of and with the Euros around the corner; if Harry does decide to leave Tottenham to manage England, are there any replacements?


Jose Mourinho....Potential candidate?

Jose Mourinho has reportedly told a Spanish newspaper that he wants to quit Spanish football to come back to English football, could be the candidate to take over Tottenham next year. 


In my opinion, Mourinho is a “One-trick Pony” because every team he manages he need funds so he can over spend for example at Chelsea, Roman Abramovich gave him the funds to secure the services of the likes of Tiago (£10 million), Essien (£24.4 million), Drogba (£24 million), Kezman (£5 million) and Porto duo Ricardo Carvalho (£19.8 million) and Paulo Ferriera (£13.3 million).

Mourinho then went to manage Inter Milan and again spent too much money, he spent £13 million on Maicon, £14 million for Muntari and player + cash exchange for Quaresma for £18.9 million and young midfielder, Pele.


Mourinho’s latest job is at Real Madrid. And once again Mourinho had to over spend to require the services of the likes of Ozil £15 million, £13 million on Sami Khedira, £8 million for Ricardo Carvalho and £25 million for Di Maria.


Although he has won the Champions League (2), UEFA Cup (1), Premier League (2), FA Cup (1), League Cup (2), Community Shield (1), Serie A (2) and plenty more cups, will Daniel Levy allow him to spend that much money? I highly doubt that.


Most of you will be thinking why am I going on so much about all these people right? Well, because Harry Redknapp has made them into what they are now. And with the Euros coming up, if the cockney genius does decide to leave Tottenham, they simply have no one to replace him. They won’t be able to afford Adebayor’s wages, as Manchester City are already paying most of it, and has reportedly quoted that he is not willing to take a wage cut. 


And with Louis Saha only on a six month contract, who will they have then? It remains to be known if Bale will be going to Barcelona to fulfill his dream, and Modric possibly going to Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea or maybe even abroad? Will somebody like Livermore be able to replace him? And with Tottenham’s best defender, Ledley King’s knees playing up more than ever, Brad Friedel turning 42 in May, and with Loic Remy not being able to leave Marseille for £20 million, who are Tottenham going to have?


Is this the end of Tottenham’s reign over us and with us in 4th place creeping up on them and playing them very soon, it could be. Just have faith.


Maybe their career won’t go as bad as it could, but let me tell you this, considering we had the worst start to the season ever, losing 2-0 at home to Liverpool and then the worst defeat in the club’s history against Manchester United. 


We have bounced back very well picking up victories against the likes of Chelsea away, Marseille away and also the return of King Henry, lighting up the mood of whoever he walks within 10 meters of. 


All we need now is consistency and it will come. The more we hate on Theo, Arshavin and Ramsey, the worse they will play. Theo has got unbelievable quality in him somewhere and he will find it soon. Just be patient, please.
