Liverpool have been keeping their scouting networks active, but their hopes of landing Borussia Dortmund playmaker Shinji Kagawa have been dashed, after the player confirmed his intentions of staying at the German outfit.
Kagawa is not the only Dortmund player to have attracted interest from the Barclays Premier League, with team mates like Mario Gotze and Lucas Barrios both heavily linked with summer moves to England.
The Japanese international has made 27 appearances for the national side, scoring 7 within the same, while his Dortmund career kicked off in 2010 when he joined the German side from Cerezo Osaka for a fee of £350,000. The 22-year old has made 37 appearances for Dortmund, scoring 15 times, laudable for a playmaker in the span.
Talking to a German future about the speculation sorrounding his future and interest from other clubs, he bluntly replied, “I’m having a terrific time and would be happy if this were to continue. I want to stay, I feel so good here, why should I go?”
Unless Liverpool can lure the player through benefits, we can see this story end here itself.
